Hawassa Health Science College is known for providing quality education and training for regular and self-sponsored students as well as short term on job trainings. Midwifery Department is one of the departments in the College that started by offering trainings in diploma programs in 2003 G.C. Later in 2013 G.C. the Department started post basic BSC program and so far it graduated over 2000 diploma as well as 254 BSC degree graduates in such a highly demanded field of Midwifery. Currently also, in 2025 G.C, Midwifery Department is offering training for about 400 trainees in diploma as well as degree programs.

Midwifery Department

The Midwifery department is one of the departments in our college and has graduated 114 (20 male and 94 female) students in Upgrade Midwifery in 1996 GC and 2005 GC, 1902 (141 male and 1761 female) students in Level 4 Diploma Midwifery from 1996-2023 GC, 254 female students in Post Basic Degree in 2013 GC and 2023 GC, 60 female students in Generic BSC Midwifery in 2014 and 2015 GC. Totally 2330 students were graduates in such a highly demanded field of midwifery. Currently also, in 2025 GC Midwifery Department is offering training for about 355 trainees in diploma as well as degree programs.
