Power and duty of Hawassa College of Health Sciences

1) To provide education and training in accordance with the programs and to issue various educational certificates,

2) To employ and manage the employees in accordance with this regulation and other applicable laws and regulations,

3) To manage the finances and assets of the institution in accordance with the laws issued by the Regional Finance and Economic Development Bureau,

4) To own property, sue and be sued in its name, and to enter into contracts with its members,

5) To accept trainees on a competitive basis or to accept and train trainees assigned to higher education according to the recruitment criteria and guidelines issued by the Bureau,

6) To design new educational programs and, when approved by the relevant body, to improve the existing ones, to provide quality education and training, based on the needs of the region and the country.

7) With a strong emphasis on creating and leading a strong student organization that ensures that students are taught as a primary part of the college's workforce and are trained with law and order and a peaceful and comfortable system of learning

8) To conduct relevant research, research and community service on priorities according to regional and National Focuses and to properly disseminate its findings, to establish the College press as necessary in cooperation with domestic and foreign educational institutions and other research institutions to conduct academic and research and community service projects

9) Prepare and implement the plan, budget and organization of the institution, and submit performance reports

10) To organize and hold relevant accounting and other records

11) Hiring qualified teachers and administrative support personnel in accordance with the college bylaws/ ledger and the guidelines of the Office of Public Service and Human Resources Development

12) To award a diploma, degree or certificate as appropriate, as well as an award deserving of outstanding achievement and contribution according to the rules /legislation

13) To facilitate the learning and training process and maintain quality by assembling and organizing and preparing educational and training resources and books

14) Conducting and participating in various educational seminars, workshops and symposia

15) To provide appropriate and quality services to the community and to facilitate and provide more up-to-date community-based service

16) Establishing relationships with other equivalent colleges, institutions and entities with the same purpose, exchanging experience, implementing and disseminating better experiences

17) Performing activities that develop its own internal revenue by charging appropriate fees for the professional services provided by the college

18) Establishing and administering a development fund under the act

19) As protected under this paragraph, the board shall have additional responsibilities and functions under the guidelines, other related laws and regulations, and by the college regulation /legislation
