Hawassa College of Health Sciences (HCHS) is dedicated to providing excellent healthcare education and developing future skilled and compassionate professionals.  Through its CEP, the college offers various diploma (Level-IV) programs in Pharmacy, Nursing, Midwifery, and Clinical Laboratory, as well as Bachelor of Science degrees in Pharmacy, Nursing and Public health.

 HCHS fosters a dynamic, safe, and supportive learning environment with modern facilities and experienced instructors, emphasizing hands-on training, evidence-based learning, and cutting-edge research to connect theory and practice and produce competent healthcare professionals committed to community health and the advancement of the healthcare field.

Continuing Education Coordinator

Continuing Education Program at Hawassa College of Health Sciences

The Continuing Education Program at Hawassa College of Health Sciences began in 2008 G.C. with a Level 4 program in Laboratory Technician (37 students) and Pharmacy Technician (28 students). In 2009 G.C., the program expanded to include Clinical Nursing with 32 students.

In 2014 G.C., the college introduced BSc programs, starting with BSc in Midwifery (30 students) and BSc in Nursing (56 students). By 2017 G.C., the college has grown to include five departments at the Level 4 training level and know college has a total of 760 students following their education.

Currently, the college actively teaches BSc Pharmacy and BSc Nursing students in three batches, with a total of 199 students.

Since its inception, the Continuing Education Program has successfully graduated 2,138 (Males=1,166 and Females=972) students in Level 4 programs:

  1. Nursing: 451 males, 250 females
  2. Midwifery: 401 females
  3. Laboratory Technician: 330 males, 139 females
  4. Pharmacy Technician: 385 males, 182 females
